Victoria Freyssinier

Victoria Freyssinier is a Mexican sustainability and sustainable infrastructure specialist with around thirty years of professional experience, currently Project Director at MexTYPSA, the Mexican arm of the TYPSA engineering and consultancy group, working on civil infrastructure, transport, water, energy and environment across Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. She also chairs the Sustainable Infrastructure Committee of LAC-CORE, the Latin American and Caribbean Council of Renewable Energy.

She holds a degree in Economics from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, a diploma in public policy and a Master of Science in Sustainability Management from Columbia University in the City of New York. She is currently a doctoral candidate in sustainability. In 2016 she became an Envision Sustainability Professional certified by the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure, identifying herself as the first Mexican professional to hold the credential, and in 2021 she was accredited as an Envision Trainer. She is also a certified ISO 14001:2015 internal auditor.

Her career has combined consultancy, the public sector and academia. She has worked with Columbia University as an associated sustainable infrastructure specialist and Envision trainer, and with Fondo Verde Internacional, the Network de Infraestructura Sostenible and FONATUR, the Mexican national tourism development fund. Her project experience includes capacity building for the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the S Line shuttle train in New York City, flood mitigation at Coney Island Yard, cost benefit analysis of water systems and organic waste programmes, and the impact assessment of a six hundred kilometre pipeline in Mexico.

Her professional footprint covers the United States, Mexico and much of Latin America, including Panama, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guatemala, Colombia, Peru and Argentina. She is an active trainer, speaker and writer on sustainable and resilient infrastructure, cost benefit analysis in public policy, emissions and climate change.
