Janet Syme Piller

With over 30 years of leadership experience across international financial institutions, the U.S. Government, and nonprofit sectors, I bring a calm presence, cross-cultural fluency, and strategic insight to every coaching relationship. During two decades of senior finance roles at the World Bank, I led diverse teams through complex global challenges, institutional transformations, and fast-paced change. These experiences continue to shape my grounded, purposeful approach to leadership and coaching. At Piller Leadership, I offer thoughtful, personalized coaching for people navigating change—whether stepping into a new leadership role, rethinking their approach, or exploring what’s next. My practice is built on grounded, compassionate support that helps clients lead with authenticity, clarity, and confidence. I especially enjoy partnering with women and professionals in transition—those seeking alignment, renewed purpose, or simply space to reflect and grow. My academic foundation includes Master’s degrees in Economics and Public Policy from Duke University and a Bachelor's in Economics from UC San Diego. I hold an Executive Certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University, where I honed my ability to support and develop values-driven leaders. I also am an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation. My coaching approach is collaborative, empathetic, and focused on helping clients align their choices with their inner compass. Service has always been central to my work. I’ve volunteered with organizations focused on mentorship and career development—supporting students, survivors of domestic violence, and underserved women as they pursue meaningful career paths. These experiences continue to affirm my belief in the power of listening, connection, and long-term impact.
