Vaishali Anavatti

Vaishali Anavatti is an urban strategist specialising in digital and sustainable urban development. Trained as an architect in India, she practised for around two years before becoming increasingly interested in questions that went beyond individual buildings — how cities function at scale, how decisions are made, and how spatial, economic and social systems interact. This led her to pursue a dual Master's degree in urban planning in Germany and China. In Germany she initially worked in an architecture and planning office on digital and sustainable urban development projects, building on her design background, before transitioning into a consulting-oriented role where she could focus on strategic thinking, analytical work and direct client advisory. She has developed a strong interest in technology, innovation and quantitative analysis, and is consistently drawn to urban economics and evidence-based decision-making within the urban context. Building on her interdisciplinary background across architecture, planning, consulting and urban economics, her focus areas include sustainable urbanism, smart cities, urban governance, urban project management and international consulting.
