Urban Planner and GIS Analyst

About

Urban Planner and GIS Analyst with a background in urban planning from Cairo and experience across government planning roles, HBU analysis, and GIS-based surveying work in Saudi Arabia. My career evolved from urban design to planning and then into technical GIS roles, where I realized I want to reposition myself as an urban planner who uses GIS as a strategic decision-support tool rather than as a primary function. I am particularly interested in Highest and Best Use (HBU), sustainable mobility, walkability, and humanizing city. Currently pursuing a master’s degree in urban planning, I aim to align my thesis and professional path with international planning and consulting environments. Through this mentoring program, I seek clear direction, stronger positioning, and a better understanding of how to transition from a technical GIS role into impactful urban planning practice.
