About
Nadia Surbakti is an urban planning researcher and practitioner based in Jakarta. She holds a Bachelor's in Architecture and a Master's in Urban and Regional Planning, and has worked as an assistant researcher to associate and full professors since 2022, alongside freelance urban planning work. Her research focuses on green infrastructure and sustainable urban tourism — including her master's thesis on developing a low-emission zone in a tourism area — and extends to applied projects on land investment in urban tourism contexts. She is now seeking to bring her research and practitioner work closer together, aiming to build expertise in urban climate resilience and adaptation in line with her current research and projects. Her areas of interest include strategic urban planning, climate resilience and local economic development, reflecting a profile that bridges academic research and on-the-ground planning practice.
