Jason Traves

Jason Traves is an urban planning professional with over 20 years of experience in development assessment and management across the UK and the Middle East. His work spans the full scale of planning practice, from individual sites to whole-city developments — including the Saudi giga-projects of Al-Ula and Qiddiya — and he has built a strong grounding in complex UK brownfield and estate-regeneration schemes in London, among them the redevelopment of former RAF sites at Uxbridge and West Drayton, as well as greenfield residential projects. Currently a Principal Planner for local government authorities, he combines technical expertise in urban planning, environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) and design with an appreciation for the interconnected, cross-cutting nature of planning issues and the value of multidisciplinary teamwork. He recently completed an Executive MBA at Imperial College London, where his final project proposed a policy white paper on novel well-being indicators for sustainable development, using Saudi giga-projects as case studies. His professional interests centre on masterplanning, policy, strategy and senior management, and he is developing an advisory and non-executive-director track alongside his technical career, with a consistent focus on people-centred, well-being-driven sustainable development.
