About
I am an urban planner and project manager with more than 25 years of experience across Egypt and Saudi Arabia, currently serving as Project Manager and Local Team Leader at Saud Consult in Riyadh.
My career began in Egypt after completing a Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning in 1998 and a preparatory Master's in Urban Design in 2001. During those early years I contributed to a range of master planning and architectural projects, including the update of the Luxor City Master Plan with ARCHPLAN.
In 2004 I relocated to Saudi Arabia to join the Aseer Region Comprehensive Planning project, where I was responsible for full-phase project mapping using ArcGIS. This was followed by five years developing planning standards for public services for the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs (MOMRA), work that centred on the regulatory frameworks governing urban development in the Kingdom.
Since joining Saud Consult in 2013 I have worked in technical and leadership roles, including master planning for Ministry of Housing projects in the Eastern Province and the management of the master plan for MEWA land in Al Madinah between 2021 and 2023. I currently lead the Saud Consult team as Local Team Leader in a joint venture with Sweco International, preparing the Regional and Local Plans for the Al Jouf Region.
Alongside practice I have invested consistently in professional education: I earned the LEED AP Neighborhood Development credential in 2016, a Master's in Smart City Management in 2020 and an MSc in Planning and Urban Leadership in 2022. My areas of specialisation are strategic urban planning, sustainable urbanism, smart cities, urban regeneration and urban project management, at scales ranging from site-specific master plans to regional and local plans.
