About

Esmeralda López García is an architect and project director whose work develops at the intersection of architecture, urban regeneration, sustainability and research, shaped by an international background and a strong interest in social and environmental impact. She holds a PhD in Architecture focused on urban regeneration and public space, developed between Spain and Italy, where she also spent several years working and teaching; her doctoral research explored how neglected urban spaces can become opportunities for social and spatial transformation. With more than fourteen years of experience in international architecture studios, energy companies and engineering consultancies, she has worked on projects ranging from sustainable buildings and urban regeneration to green energy infrastructure and circular-economy strategies, holding senior design and project-leadership roles in Italy and Spain and leading flagship projects, multidisciplinary teams and large-scale developments to high environmental standards, including Passivhaus, LEED and ESG-driven projects. She maintains a strong academic profile, teaching sustainability and bioclimatic architecture at university level and contributing to international research and publications on urban regeneration and public space. Her interests include sustainable urbanism, urban regeneration, public space design, tactical urbanism and international consulting, with a growing orientation toward social-purpose urban work.
