About
Christos Loukas is an urban planner specialising in masterplanning and sustainable urban strategy. He studied Surveying Engineering (MEng) at the National Technical University of Athens, choosing urbanism as his major specialisation, and went on to complete an MSc in Sustainable Urbanism at University College London. During his master's programme he developed an urban strategy vision for Stockholm's new sustainable district of Väsjön and undertook the regeneration of London's underprivileged district of Poplar — projects that crystallised his passion for the masterplanning phase of the planning field and led him to pursue doctoral research into the principles of creative urban strategies. He currently works on land-use plans for several municipalities in Greece, organising land uses at the municipal level, while aiming to engage with more holistic, urban-scale projects. His core professional interests lie in strategic urban planning and urban regeneration.
