About

Bipika Poudyal is an urban planning professional with experience spanning private practice, education and research across Australia and Nepal. She began her career in her second year of university as a Planning Technician in Brisbane, working with planning regulations for residential houses and high-rise towers, and later moved into education, teaching schoolchildren about disaster resilience in Nepal, before joining the research sector. She currently works as a Research Operations Manager, supporting researchers with data analysis and literature review, formatting articles for two academic journals, and organising conferences, webinars and seminars. Her professional interests sit at the intersection of urban planning, climate resilience and disaster risk management, with additional focus on sustainable urbanism and public space design. She is particularly motivated to develop strategic, policy-oriented work — building the skills, networks and international exposure that will allow her to contribute to laws and programmes that reduce the impact of development on climate change and make communities more resilient to disasters.
