Ana Gaby Chavez

Ana Gaby Chavez is an urban planner and mobility specialist working at the intersection of transport planning, urban design and architecture. Originally trained as an architect in Mexico, an early experience in social housing on the outskirts of Monterrey shaped her conviction that the urban systems around buildings — jobs, transport and accessibility — matter as much as the buildings themselves. She pursued an MSc in Urban Planning and Policy Design at Politecnico di Milano on a full scholarship, and began her career in Milan as an intern at the mobility consultancy Systematica, working on large-scale masterplans across Asia, Europe and the MENA region. She later taught urban mobility and site analysis at Tecnológico de Monterrey, helping launch its urban planning program, and worked as a consultant at Steer, where she led the Belize National Public Transport Study as project manager and contributed to urban freight, complete-streets and walkability projects. She currently works at NEOM, reviewing and aligning mobility strategies across masterplans with the project's vision for seamless, sustainable and user-centred mobility, including guidelines for multimodal hubs. Her focus areas include strategic planning, sustainable mobility, smart cities and urban regeneration.
