Alicia Baker

Alicia is an Australian urban planner, researcher and educator with over a decade of experience spanning private consultancy, local government, academia, and the non-profit sector. Her personal and professional journey has taken her from Australia to Germany, Singapore and Morocco, providing her with a rich, multicultural perspective and broad understanding planning and design histories, theories, systems, processes, and practices in diverse contexts.

Alicia has worked on large-scale urban renewal, heritage adaptation and conservation, education and health infrastructure, and strategic plan-making projects. Her research and teaching interests include urban resilience, risk-based planning, governance and decision-making, urban megaprojects, people and places. Alicia holds a Masters of Planning from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Design in Architecture from the University of Technology Sydney.

Outside of "work", you will find Alicia enjoying life´s simple pleasures - sunshine, exploring new places, time in nature, the company of friends and family, and good food.
