About
Alejandra Fazekas, AICP, has over a decade of public-sector planning experience in the U.S., including Southern Nevada and South Florida. She currently serves as Principal Planner in the City of Henderson’s Community Development & Services Department in Southern Nevada. Since joining the City in 2015, Alejandra has led long-term planning efforts in regional and comprehensive planning, neighborhood revitalization, brownfields redevelopment, transportation planning, transit-oriented development, historic preservation, and open space initiatives. She has successfully secured grant funding to support the development and implementation of various plans, resulting in meaningful, tangible impacts on the community. Additionally, Alejandra has developed policies for Henderson Development Code on urban agriculture, food pantries, and grocery stores. Prior to joining the City of Henderson, she worked for the City of Winter Garden in South Florida as a Planner I. She worked on review of entitlement applications for residential and non-residential development, business licenses, and facade renovations for Winter Garden's historic downtown. Alejandra holds a Master’s in Regional and City Planning from the University of Oklahoma, a Master’s in Urban Design from Kyushu University in Japan, and a Bachelor’s in Architecture from the Universidad Católica de Nicaragua.
